Road Rules
- Vehicles drive on the right hand side of the road
- Roads in Canada are much wider than in European countries
- Rules do vary by Province. Please check with the rental agent for verification at time of rental
- U–turns are prohibited in built up areas and city centres where a single or double solid line runs down the middle of the road. Signage is usually well marked for areas where U-turns are prohibited
- Extra care should be taken when making left-hand turns into oncoming traffic
- Directional signs are green
- Recreational signs are brown and services are generally blue
- Additional information required for renting a car in Canada:
- If your licence does not include your home address, this must be clearly written on a separate piece of paper with home telephone number
- The address and telephone number of your accommodation in Canada
- Passport
- Return Airline Ticket
