  • Road bridges and tunnel tolls are in place in selected areas
  • Tolls are also chargeable when entering city centres
Use of Mobile Phone Whilst Driving
  • It is illegal to use a hand held mobile phone when driving
On the Spot Fines
  • On the spot fines are issued by police officials for relatively minor parking and motoring offences
  • These should be paid at a bank or post office which will provide a receipt
Seat Belts
  • Compulsory for front and rear seated occupants if fitted
  • Children under the age of four may not travel as front seat passengers unless seated in rear facing child seat

  • Red – Stop
  • Amber – Slow down
  • Green – Go
Fuel
  • Fuel stations usually open Mon – Fri 0700 – 2200hrs but opening hours vary greatly from station to station
  • Payment by cash or credit card (credit cards widely accepted)
  • Unleaded regular (octane95) super (octane 98) and diesel are available
  • Motorists should not use diesel from a red pump as this is for farmers and can damage the fuel tank
  • A severe fine is imposed for those who use it
Parking Advice
  • Parking regulations are strictly enforced and parking is not permitted on main roads or bends
  • Main towns operate a colour parking scheme whereby different colours permit different parking times
  • For example, yellow permits 1 hour, Grey permits 2 hours, etc
