Use of Mobile Phone Whilst Driving
  • It is illegal to use a hand held mobile phone when driving
  • The use of hands free kit is legal
On the Spot Fines
  • On the spot fines are issued for minor motoring offences and drink driving
  • All fines must be paid in local currency – Slovenian Tolar
  • Police are not empowered to collect fines on the spot
  • Instead they will write a ticket payable at a Slovenian bank or post office
Seat Belts
  • It is compulsory for front and rear seated occupants to wear seat belts
  • Children are not permitted to sit in the front if they are under the age of 12 years

  • No leaded petrol is available
  • Diesel and LPG widely available
